Retail Loss Prevention Detection System is a retail anti-theft system used to deter theft and prevent store merchandise to be taken by shop-lifters. Retail Loss Prevention Systems are are also known as Security Tagging System, Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) System and Shop Detection System. The majority of the detection systems are presented as visible doorway sensors that work in hand with security tags to prevent unauthorized store merchandise to be taken from the shop. Some systems can also be installed concealed as per special requirement. There are two major technologies, Acousto-Magnetic (AM) and Radio Frequency (RF), used to build detection sensors.
Radio Frequency (RF) systems are normally cheaper to buy and ran, but they are not suitable for all retail sectors. However as it is cost-effective, RF systems are widely used in many entry-level and mid-range clothing stores and supermarkets.
Acousto-Magnetic is a more advanced, accurate and reliable system that can be used for most business types. So AM Systems are widely used in lots of high-end stores as they covers ultra wide doorway and also provide robust performance.
